Tech4Life has a long history, and this is reflected in the strong connections we have with various organisations and groups, both within Australia and internationally.
Australian Networks
We are directly involved in the Australian Rehabilitation & Assistive Technology Association (ARATA), and Lloyd currently chairs the National Committee on Rehabilitation Engineering (the NCRE, part of Engineers Australia).
We have joined others from around the country on topics such as Economics of AT (the Fremantle Collaboration), Standards and safety (through the NCRE Symposia, and Standards Australia ME067 meetings), and advised governments and policy makers. Lloyd currently represents the NCRE on the NDIA Assistive Technology Reference Group.
International Networks
Apart from Lloyd’s International Standards work (ISO TC173), he has also worked with others from Canada (University Health Network iDapt team in Toronto), Singapore (Society for People with Disability (SPD), Specialised Assistive Technology Centre), Thailand (the Sirindhorn National Medical, Rehabilitation Centre, Assistive Technology team), Sweden (Karolinska Institute & Hospital), and USA (University of Pittsburgh HERL group).
We have published in a number of international journals and conferences, and Lloyd is currently an Associate Editor of Assistive Technology and Journal of Assistive, Rehabilitative, and Therapeutic Technologies
